Thanks for all the birthday greetings! =) For my birthday we took a picnic lunch and headed out to the lake. I live in Northern California and we are in an extreme drought. We should be being pelted with rain/snow but we aren't. So since the sun was shining we headed off on an adventure. It was crazy to think that we were walking where there is normally water. Hubby found a carpenter's pencil and a good bunji cord. Once the sun dropped below the mountains we had to head home because the temps were dropping. It does get below freezing here just about every night. It was a fun day.

It's raining cats and dogs here again today, with yellow flood alerts in parts of the UK for today and I think tomorrow too. Yuck. Fed up with grey skies. We've had the odd sunny blue sky half day here and there but this has been going on for months. Worst we've had for nearly 100 years apparently. Bet we'll still have hosepipe bans if we get a summer though!! :0/

I hate forest fires! Where I used to live, the woods, a supposedly protected area, were practically annihilated with fires and, coincidentally, constructions of condos followed over those same spots.
