I am still struggling with my food. I never took my trigger foods to my sister in law's house. I have still been eating snack bars, sunflower seeds. sugar free life savers and bubble gum and macadamias. I am going to eat them on my trip then try to cut everything except the snack bars out of my regular food plan. I ate too many carbs at dinner at a Mexican restaurant (all those pinto beans) but I have a good plan to bring healthy foods on our trip - Greek yogurt, hardboiled eggs, Sugar free jello, peanut butter, low carb bread, macadamias (in measured portions), once a day snack bar (if needed) and jerky. We may also bring hotdogs and sauerkraut. I have no idea what they will serve at the Mayo Clinic restaurants so I want to be prepared.
Due to the expected severe winter weather we are leaving for Jacksonville tomorrow morning to try to avoid the snow. There were reports that interstates near Atlanta might get closed due to the expected heavy snow. Since we have to drive through Atlanta to get to Jacksonville we can't risk the interstates being closed if we want to make our Mayo Clinic visit on time. I was going to say hello to my buddies but I still have to finish packing and charging my Ipod and my computer so I probably won't have time to say hello tonight. I will try to get on tomorrow at the hotel to say hello. I hope all of you are having a good day.

Sounds like you have done some prep regarding your food. Do the best you can, and let God do the rest! (and don't be afraid to ask in the hospital cafe for them to make you just a plain cheeseburger w/ no bun, or if they have chicken for example, grilled) Lots of times when I have been there w/ my Mom, I have had to ask...and they were THRILLED that I did...and were more than happy to accommodate me. (hope that helps) I will be praying for both of you. Safe travels, and a time of healing and good health for your husband! Much Love, Paula
