Which path to choose? This is a very strange place for me to be! I've been an athlete all my life and yet, the last 3-4 years my motivation and energy levels have been comprimised (job change, age, etc). So not only has my weight increased, but my strength has decreased in significant ways. It's amazing how my pride got in my way of starting to reclaim my health. But a couple months ago, when I started this commmitment to track my calories, adapt a vegan diet, I also decided to "start where I am" with my physical health. This seems to mean that the weight comes off SLOWLY. And my mornings start with gentle stretches instead of a 5 mile run. And my hiking elevation is less than 1000 ft over may miles instead of powering up 1000 ft in a mile. And I have to go see a specialist because my shoulder is trashed. But the one thing I know is that if I don't continue to start where I am, it won't be better tomorrow. I'm grateful for the 1 less pound to carry this week and I look forward to a gentle swim and a lovely hike with my husband and embrace everything else today brings my way!

Reading this was like reading my life over the past five years. Except, weight wise, I really stacked on the weight after a miscarriage. I also really struggled with depression thereafter. Just so many changes too. Well, it's quite the journey back for me. I used to be a long-distance runner. I actually loved hill work. Hopefully, we'll be able to find some of that again. Best to you.

Thanks for commenting! We will find our way back— maybe not exactly the way it was but something new and improved! As a good friend of mine said once, sometimes life just gets “lifey”

I think you’re in a wonderful place psychologically and physically, you’re doing the right thing by taking it easy according to your body strength and adapting. I hope your shoulder gets better fast. And slow and steady wins the race congratulation on your healthy journey.🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
