Ahh!! So much to to do so little time!! I'm falling behind on my journaling and my fatsecreting!!! Apart from that my meals and exercise has been on track even though I haven't entered them here. So, here's a quick recap:

Thursday: Meals

Cereal (3)
Almonds (1.5)
Veggie burger (2)
Coffee with milk (0.5)
More almonds (1.5)
Rice cake (1)
Grilled zucchini and portobellos w olive oil, fresh basil, and sprinkled parmesan (1.5)
1 chocolate (1)

Caprese salad, tomato, fresh basil, mozz, EVOO(1.5+1)
Spinach salad with tomato and 1 orange (1) w/ ½ tsp oil (0.5) and ff feta (0.5)
Veggie burger (2)
Late night almonds (4)
Total: 22.5

Exercise: Not much cardio. Used resistance bands for biceps, shoulders, triceps, a little bit of squats, and did 25 crunches (total 20 mins or so)


Friday:
1 pc chocolate (1)
Coffee with cream (1)
1 dried fruit bar (1)
Pre workout: Almonds (2)
Post- workout: Veggie burger: (2)


Evening dinner out: Strawberry and Brie salad (mixed greens, strawberry pieces, 4 cubes brie, bunch of candied pecans and balsamic vinaigrette). (maybe 15 points?)

It was July 4th celebration and we went for dinner at my favorite Irish pub, and instead of my favorite veggie boxty and half and half (half guiness, half harp), I showed incredible restraint ON A HOLIDAY and opted out of any of those or other fabulous, decadent appetizers or entrees. Chose the above-mentioned salad as the only bad thing in that would be the brie, but that's better than carbs; the vinaigrette, which I had on the side and used only half the amount; and the candied pecans---I don't know how many points to count for that, but at least it's not as bad as the white stuff, i.e., flour, rice etc. as far as carbs go..I only had 2 diet cokes and NO drinks.
Later we all came back to my place for a viewing of the fireworks from the building party room (where they had more snacks, and I refrained from indulging in any chips, dips, or drinks). One person popped open a bottle of champagne and poured me a glass, so that was the only indulgence I had.
Even later, after everyone left, I was doing some work on the computer and decided to have a few almonds (admittedly late at night, but still 2 hours before I actually went to bed). (3 points)

Total: 25 points


Exercise: Did a good amount: 30 mins treadmill (8 runs), and 30 mins weights (biceps, lateral raises, triceps).I upgraded the biceps to 15 pounds, but was able to do only 6 reps, so did the rest of the reps with the 12 pound weights.

Saturday so far: My old friend from NYC is visiting me this weekend, so it's going to be more eating, drinking, partying...but I'll make good choices and be sure to work out--heck! I'll even drag her along with me to the gym, my walks...we'll go dancing tonight so that should be some good activity...

Looks like you did well with the holiday eating especially with all those temptations, and even got some exercise in! You're doing great. All that dedication pays off!! :D

Way to show restraint and not give in to the goodies and drinks! I'm so proud of you and how hard you're working! I'm announcing the stats for the carb/points challenge in each of your journals. And the winner is.... 08willbegreat with an impressive net point total (minus activity points) of 86.8!!! mbhpro came in second with an also impressive score of 101 g carbs. BadAndee put in a valiant effort at 113.5 g of carbs to round out the trifecta!
