Well, I really do not understand what is going on. Last week I did a lot of exercise and this week I did even more and my weight has gone back up!! I feel so discouraged with this whole weight loss thing. I try one thing and I gain. I try something else and I gain. I sometimes feel like giving up. I feel like eating a big mac and stuffing my face with fattening foods and just giving up. I feel like I am never going to reach my goal. It's pointless and a waste of time.
Then there are times when I think, you know what? this is not going to take control of me! I am going to fight this!! I am going to win and kick these bad thoughts out once and for all!!
I just need to keep up this hard work and see what happens next week.

Thought I might add my measurements.
Not too bad from last time.

Chest: 42 (-2)
Waist: 33 (+.5)
Hips: 45.5 (-.5)
Thighs: 27.5 (+.5)

I totally know where you're coming from. It's frustrating when the media shower us with people who have miraculously lost 300 pounds. I'm just starting out this stuff, so I don't know what advice to give you except to hang in there, and remember to look in the mirror and tell yourself to you love you.

If you increase your exercise or do any that you are not used to. you can have a gain because our muscles retain water to repair themselves (little tears happen when we exercise and water helps to repair them). It will go away, but will come back when you increase or change your exercise again. Dont' stop the exercise! It will help you get smaller and leaner. You are doing good things for your body. You have to be in this for your health and the long haul. It takes alot of patience to lose weight. Keep doing what you are doing and it will eventually show up on the scale or in your clothes. (The scale is only 1 way to show weight loss success). I would rather weigh 140 pounds and be a size 4 than weight 130 pounds and be a size 6. Exercise and loss of fat makes all the difference. So be proud of yourself and have patience. You can do it!!

Keep that focus, as those scales will relent in the end. :o) You might want to check out your calorie intake versus calories burned if you are doing a lot of exercise. I've found I've actually had to eat more to keep those losses going... but the diet calendar has helped me to establish that, so you could find it useful filling in. I've also found it's helped with evaluating my fat, carb and protein ratios -- hence I found I had to lower my carbs. I know when I initially started exercising that the scales started being stubborn -- as Suzi said though, make sure you're drinking loads of water, as muscles will retain after exercise if you're not drinking enough. Keep up the great work though as it will be worth the efforts in the end. ;o)
