Yesterday was a pretty big success! My calories were a bit low (consumed 1,500, when I burned 3,200), but I'm sure today when I don't work out, I will make up for that. Based on my estimate, my calories will be about 1,800 today, and when I don't work out, I don't usually burn 2,800 in a day, so I won't hit my 1,000 calorie deficit goal, and that's okay.
The other thing I noticed about yesterday is that my water intake was really low. I think only about 4 cups, which is really low for me in general, but too low to be healthy either. My goal today is to make sure that I get in my 8 cups of water. I'm sure I should be drinking more, however, we'll start with a reasonable goal, and work up from there.
I actually worked out yesterday, which is surprising, because I worked out on Saturday, but I looked ahead to today, and realized I don't have time in my workday to go to the gym, so I needed to work out on Sunday to make up for it, because I'd be skipping more than 1 day. In order to work out at least 3 times per week (ideally 4), I really can't skip more than 1 day at a time, or I'll be behind and have to work out too many days in a row.
I have made working out a purposeful activity, and something I schedule in, not something that I just hope will happen when I'm bored. Life is a bit too crazy these days to just hope I can fit it in.
