Yesterday a late journal entry today an early one. Doing well, went to bed - no sleep. Woke up just as I was dozing off with migraine pain so I've been up all night. Anyway, less calories yesterday, I was aiming for around 1000, but ate more. That is a good goal to aim for and then I usually get a little more calories in so at least I will stay below 2000 and I think if I go under 1700 I will lose weight as I am tall. I MUST stop buying anything with processed sugar in it, I have been guilty of that recently and I'm more of a salt person than a sugar one. Also, I must stop with the alcohol unless I do very low carb or the extremely low calorie beers. I finished the first handwritten draft of my eighth story early in the middle of the night, it is nearly forty pages long and is a good, unique story for a science fiction/fantasy book. Maybe two or three more short stories to complete that book. I can see some of them getting made into movies they're that original should I become successful enough. Hot weather for the week ahead, I hope to start walking again, my left leg is a bit sore at times still, the tendons need time to heal sometimes... I WILL get on buddies' journals today hopefully!

Good job on the calories! It is very hard to avoid all processed sugar foods, but you can do it if you are ready to cook your meals home and don't buy anything ready to eat. And of course eliminating alcohol from your diet will make a big difference. I know you are in control and you know what you're doing, but I would like to see the chart going down lol! Don't worry it is just my weight-obsessed personality typing those words...

It will go down if I stay below 1800 calories and my leg heals up well enough so that I can go for long walks very soon... I'm tall so I'm not overweight by any stretch of the imagination.

Have been out of touch for a couple of days. Lot happening with you. Party on the 4th, you moving out of the country after you get published, finished another story......wow busy here. Sounds like you will be able to use that leg soon. It takes a long time doesn't it? I had knee surgery a few years ago and it took me months before I could do anything other than simple walking. Still have issues, but it's nothing to do with the surgery. Our Homeowners Association want to raise our monthly maintenance fees by $65!! We have had two back-to-back meetings. We are going to pick the budget apart item by item and try to figure how to cut things down. We have two months before they raise it (Sept 1). There will be another meeting the first of next month to see how we have done. Looks like you eating has been irregular lately. Remember I mentioned the alcohol and how many calories they had? Even tho you are tall, you have to watch it. As we age, our metabolism drops and weight creeps up on us. I for one know that! Finally got some rain tonight. Badly needed. Hope we continue to get some. Been horribly hot and humid lately. High 90's and they say it feels like 103. They are right! Grandson's birthday was today, he was 6 years old. Boy, time flys. Seems like he was just born such a short time ago. Well Glenn, enjoy the party in your building on Sunday. I will not probably be able to get to journals till Monday as I'm busy tomorow and Sunday. We're grilling chicken and all the kids will be stopping by. Enjoy your weekend Glenn and I hope you get some rest.

Thanks for stopping by - I am off my normal schedule and slept all evening. Tonight I will write, a story that has a lot of potential. It will be the ninth for the short story book. I think this book will do well as the stories are quite unique and some of them will be made into movies possibly in time. My tendon is still healing, hopefully this weekend it will get better. The next week it is supposed to be in the 90s here. I'll try to check in on jourals this weekend. Hope you have a nice weekend, I am trying to get the calories under control and think I will in the coming weeks... I will be exercising soon to keep my weight down for certain...

Your new calorie strategy is one I like to use too and find it quite effective. Aim really low and the final result is at least likely to be acceptable. You sound like you are working hard at the writing and I am looking forward to the day when we see the words "I GOT PUBLISHED TODAY!" on this journal. Have a great Fourth of July weekend Glenn!
