GlennM's Journal, 11 June 2010

Doing well. Well, my latest therapist is leaving the area. I'm done with therapy for now. Enough, they all leave. He was acting kind of rude lately, I think he knew he needed to move. He has a girlfriend near Boston. Anyway, the dieting is going well and I'm keeping my calories below 2000.
Calorie Intake Thursday June 10, 2010: 1720.
Vocabulary word of the day: cerise - noun- a light, clear red color.----------- Origin from the 19th Century, French - literally: cherry.

Glad you liked your hike. I hope my leg heals up soon. I work the late shift tonight, Bruce is working now and might come over in a few hours maybe. I will write after I get done watching a soap I missed this afternoon. I will not walk around for a while yet to heal up my leg. I may go to the cafe this weekend and Monday and will take the bus there and back even though it is only about a half mile away. Tuesday I have some shopping to do probably. I write longhand in a notebook so I don't need to bring a computer to the cafe. It's easy for me to focus in there. The place is very nice, I'm sure it is fashioned after a European cafe and has an upstairs and downstairs and one can get a meal there too...

Glenn, thanks for stopping by my journal. About the Shirataki, you could probably eat an entire bag of it. I could, I just love it. Be sure to have the spaghetti sauce with it. Very important, rinse the hell out of it. At least 2-3 minutes in a fine mesh strainer. It will have a funny odor when you first open it up but that is normal for Shirataki. Rinsing is the most important. Then I heat it up for 2 minutes in the microwave, pour it on a towel to "semi-dry" the noodles. Then reheat for another minute or so til hot and put sauce over it. Served with a salad, its more than filling and so low in calories. Is looks like pasta, just a tad chewier but so good. Nice pasta fix :-) How's the leg tonight? Keep resting it until it is fully healed. These things can take time. Don't rush back to using it. Well, don't work too hard. Talk to ya later.

Where is it located in the store - the shirataki? I went this evening and couldn't find it, is it in the vegetable section? Thanks for your suggestion. The leg is quite sore and bruised a bit. I am taking aspirin. Anyway, when I went to the store it was past dinnertime so there was really no one to ask where to find it. Thanks for all your advice about it since pasta is so high in carbs and especially calories. I am trying to cut calories somewhat right now...
