I'm 52 and have struggled with my weight almost all my life. I tried Atkins some years ago, but developed severe cramps and stopped. I was afraid to try again, but I became prediabetic and needed to do something. The low-cal, low fat wasn't working, so Atkins it was. I've found that even from the beginning, I had trouble adding carbs without my weight stalling, so I'm working it very, very slowly. I joined FatSecret after I'd been in Atkins for about 4 weeks, so I actually started at around 185. My high weight, before I started exercising regularly and cutting down on foods, was 215. My blood sugar has dropped to normal levels, and that's the most important thing. I want to be around to torment and tickle my grandkids for a long, long time!
