First Week - How many Pounds?
My first and second weeks were oddly enough the worst losses (2 lb each week, though any loss is a good loss, eh?!). I was tracking perfectly, but simply was not exercising. I still do not get as much exercise as I would like, but I have continued to lose steadily and even in increased amounts compared to my first two weeks. I'm a beginner, but I find eating satisfying small items throughout the day really helps me control portion sizes during the few times I have a real "meal" to eat. Portion control was always one of my things as well as being constantly hungry. Both are no problems at all, and I think my willpower is at its all-time high after seeing results.

As for your other question, snacks are a big deal for me. I need fast snacks in a variety of tastes (sweet, salty, etc) so I understand. Spend a long time at the grocery store picking out the best snacks for you. Since it depends so much on what you like, no one can tell you what to buy. However, fruit-flavored yogurts, low-fat graham crackers, fat-free whipped cream, baby carrots and precut heads of broccoli with fat-free dressing, Babybel light cheeses, Goldfish crackers in baggies (55 per bag), Smart Ones desserts, etc. have all been winners for me. Plan in advance..if serious munchies catch you unawares, you need something fast and fitting to grab or you will grab whatever is worst for you. Make sure you have variety. That alone has kept me going at times!
