I'm a 28, soon to be 29 year old woman living in SoCal. I live with my husband and step-daughter, and luckily my husband is on board with our (mostly) clean diet. He actually lost 100 pounds and has maintained this loss for about 3 years now. I lost 35 pounds, and like any good woman, decided to put some back on.

Well, back in January the bikinis made an appearance at my nearby Target (In January, I know! Jerks.) I decided that I wanted to wear one this summer, and it's not gonna happen at my current weight.

Do I want to be healthy? Sure. I'm actually pretty healthy now.

But I REALLY want to wear a bikini.

Step 1: 140
Step 2: ?
Step 3: BIKINI!

Hey, if it works for the Underpants Gnomes, it might work for me.

Low carb diets and their impact in normal brain functioning
Some people do very well on low carb diets, others don't. You might be like me, where low carb just does NOT fit my way of eating at all.

I also notice feeling sluggish, slow thinking, less creative, and a hard to describe "fuzzy" feeling.

I like to have oatmeal for breakfast, I eat whole wheat breads, very small portions of pasta with a salad, I love to eat bulgar wheat instead of rice (not a rice fan), and tons of fruits and veggies. I try to go for 50% carbs, 20-30% protein and 20-30% fats in my diet. Seems to help me the most in doing my fast paced HIIT workouts.

These foods are obviously not low carb, but I don't know much about the low carb way of eating to be of much help, just my perspective on it.

Please review my diet.....
Alcohol can really rack up calories quickly. Going WAY over calories in one day is the same as going a little bit over calories every day, end effect? Weight gain.

You are obviously eating enough calories to either maintain or gain weight, and not low enough to lose it, so you have to figure out where that is coming from. If you are active like you say, the amount of calories you are eating should be good. Try trimming it down to 1500 a day and see if that makes a difference. Track DILIGENTLY.

Cost of eating healthy
I've actually lowered my grocery bill eating healthy. You just have to be smart and figure out where to buy things.

Also, subtract the price of all the junk you were buying before and you'll probably see it's a wash.
