Was diagnosed with cancer in September 2010, that was the first year I was consistently overweight. After my diagnosis, I set out to lose the extra pounds and regain my health and succeeded in large part to FatSecret keeping me accountable with my food & exercise! But following that achievement, while I stayed cancer-free I grew less motivated and pretty much stopped exercising. I realize one pitfall was only having a goal of reaching a certain weight. Now, my only goal is to keep building habits that will enrich my daily life and pay off in the long run for my health & happiness.

One thing I really need to work on is reducing stress, or avoiding it entirely. I know regular exercise and staying focused on my healthy habits will help me to stay "out of my head" and do what is best for me mentally, physically, and emotionally.

CRON-O-Meter vs. FitDay?
Hi, if anyone here uses CRON-O-Meter and/or FitDay, what is your opinion of either site, or both? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I've been thinking about supplementing certain vitamins & minerals, so I started copying my FS food log into but it seems to take forever, and I'm already using a lot of "equivalent" food entries because it is a pain to enter new foods... so not sure how accurate/useful it will be. Haven't tried FitDay yet.

Giving up the scale?
Thanks all! It does make sense to switch over to measurements and body fat, will take the full set this week and look into getting some calipers. I think I will keep the scale just to keep weighing in here, but add the other pieces in to keep it in perspective.

I am overdue for clothes trying-on session... that reminds me, a super-satisfying "win" for me recently was being able to wear my favorite winter coat again! Until now it was too tight in the arms and chest; I guess technically I could have worn it sooner, but it wouldn't have been pretty. I got rid of a bunch of clothes earlier this year, glad this wasn't one of them Smile

Giving up the scale?
Probably an odd question to ask on this site which is all about lbs/kgs lost, but has anyone given up weighing themselves for good, or tried it and decided it didn't work?

If it was successful for you (or not), what did you replace the scale with (body measurements, fitness goals, fat %, etc.)? Just would like to hear different people's experiences with both sides. Thanks!
