I'm a 54 year old woman. My husband and I are Landlords (we have a 5 family apartment building and 1 single family home that we rent). We also buy non-wanted homes (Other people won't buy them as there's too much work involved), renovate them and eventually sell them. We're not talking "flip" here! We really enjoy taking a home that would otherwise rot into the ground and turn it around into a great looking "almost new" home for some young couple just starting out, etc. - No work to be done by them, just move in.
I have been battling my weight since my son was born back in 1979! Up and down with the weight - enough already! This time I have two sources that are going to help me succeed. I have joined a group class at our local hospital that meets once per week and FatSecret. I have already been with FatSecret for a couple of months and had not filled out this bio until today. This is how I know I will be ok. I fill out my food intake/exercise daily and it keeps me AWARE of everything that goes into my mouth and my activity.
I love reading all of the comments -- lets me know that I'm not alone in my quest to get healthier.
Update: 8/12/13 I finally met my goal! Lost 43 pounds and now am going to try extremely hard to MAINTAIN!!
