I am 28, a student and I live in Austria. I have been vegetarian since birth, and I get along very well with it.
I am a passionate cook and I love all kinds of food and cuisines. Due to lack of time, its also my only real hobby, which eventually got me into trouble.
I share an apartment with my fiance and my cat, both of whom I love dearly. Besides cooking, I love to travel, read books and go hiking, when the (very fickle) weather allows it.
I am currently trying to lose weight with a combination of portion-control, trying to keep my food low-GI and of course exercise.

Very funny take on Fad Diets vs Calories in/out for weightloss
I am not offended by the article, because a) he is right about the eating healthy and calorie part and b)so he thinks women are more emotional and that is true. I did not like the way he put it, as if we were a weak bunch on the whole.
It's true that women are very emotional, and what is also true is that being a certain weight has a lot more impact on our self-confidence than that of men. That does not have to be judged as a bad thing, as no one should judge men for being more rational. It just means women have to find their own way to weight loss, which is different from that of men. I think women need to boost their self-confidence first and often need a social component to find losing weight easier, because it curbs emotional eating and makes the whole thing more fun and entertaining.
I think that is something this guy does not know, but then his profession is not known for their thorough thinking either.

Alternative to Pizza?
Well I don't know your Papa Johns Pizza, but I have tried different types of "bottoms", where I found two sheets of filo dough to be the most useful alternative. You can top it off any way you would your pizza, but put on only a little olive oil mixed with garlic on the sides. Saves you lots of carbs and calories. Another recipe I found online had linseed with eggs as a bottom and another one was with cauliflower... but you better google those.

Having trouble staying motivated... any ideas?
I made a morning ritual, where I sat down, and imagined my slimmer self, what I would feel like, what I would wear and so on. Kind of started my breakfast off more motivated and helped me get through the day too.

Mini-Trampoline
Hey!
I was thinking of getting a mini-trampoline too, because I want to excercise inside in winter.
So what was your experience with it, fitnesswise? Is it still fun?
And on the practical side, is it easy to put away when not excercising? And does the trampoline jump along, and make sounds that the neighbours might hear?

You are welcome. When my grandmother was in hospital for a long time, she trained her legs with the therabands in the security of her own home, because she was afraid of walking outside and falling.
I think it might help to build up muscles, maybe just before going to bed, so your spaghetti-legs can rest.
