Trouble Increasing Stamina
Why do we knock ourselves down by saying things like.. "I only walk, I don't jog orrun"

I hate jogging, always have, I don't 'hike" , I walk, sometimes alot , sometimes fast, sometimes just enjoying nature. It's all good. Any movement is good. But sometimes we do things in the name of getting healthy that makes us sick such as running or jogging that causes knee and and joint issues. So learn what is best for you at this time in your life and do it. Don't fret.

Jeri is the perfect example of finding what works for her and going with it.

It never fails to amaze me.......
In 2003 I went down to Costa Rica to teach English at a university. I bunked with a family in a town Heredia. While staying with them I travelled to many hillside villages that did not have grocery stores etc, just small bodega's at the corner of their villages. CR has many Americanized stores now and yet there are still places that are suffering. Every 3 months I had to leave to renew my visa and so I went to Nicaragua and Panama and other central american countries. Even though I had a 'high end' job, I lived and learned amongst the so called poorer population. They were the happiest times of my travels. Rice, beans and eggs were my staple and I was humbled at how well they accepted their lives .

It changed me forever. I went for 3 months and stayed for just over 3 years.... who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks at 50 years old my appreciation of what we have was an eye opening experience. Shock

It is amazing. What we actually need to sustain life compared to what we think we need or desire. We truly eat with our eyes. You've done an amazing job Glaun and should be so proud of yourself.

I lived in a 3rd world country for a few years and was with people who lived on rice and beans and were so thankful when they could kill a chicken and divide amongst the whole family of maybe 14 people, for a special occasion.

We spend so much time thinking about food, buying food, preparing it and then gobble it down in 10 minutes not sitting back and appreciating every bite.

I try to remember daily where my food comes from and enjoy it as I eat it but stick to what is the most nutritious for my body. I wish more people appreciated what we do have instead of the overindulgence that leads to the weight problems and diseases that many have.
