They are almost identical.. here's a web page that sums it up..

I've been a LCHF for many years and couldn't do anything different but i don't pigeon hole myself into any one of the diet plans.. atkins/South Beach/ Paleo / Ketoginec... you have to try the plans and see if it works for you.

I love butter so it could be said that I follow Atkins.. I won't eat canola oil, so it could be said i'm not doing South beach, small nuances from each eating plan that you tailor to you and your lifestyle.

That being said, i'm the healthiest i've ever been, bp down, good cholestrol levels and feeling great and never hungry.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, guess what? yep, it's a duck. your gut has it right. This is hogwash.

500 cals a day may work for a fast weight loss but what happens then? You start eating 'normal' again and it sneaks back on + some.

The only way to safely lose weight and sustain it is to change your eating habits. Drop the processed, fast foods and go healthy. Learn a good RDI ( my fav.

Your eating plan is what will make you lose weight, exercising will build muscle and cardio your lungs and heart. All together will make a wonderful and happy person for life!

Good on you for asking the right questions before losing your $$

Too many here are focused on losing weight and not looking at being healthy... sad but true.

I found that being healthy was the main goal in my life and weight loss was a wonderful side effect!
