Why am I not losing weight?
Definitely stay positive and going to the gym is great. CICO is a great theory but one size does not fit all and I don't believe its a simple as it suggests. There are other things that effect us, thyroid function, hormones, food intolerances etc. and we have to learn what may work against you.

For example, grains cause me to bloat and gain. I can eat the exact same calories per day but if I include grains I start to slowly gain weight. I'm not gluten intolerant it's just how grains work for me. Sodium also has a big play in weight gain and I keep it around 1200 mgs a day and all from natural vegetables.

If you are eating less junk food than before, good for you, these steps will head you in the right direction but if you're getting frustrated at stalling then maybe this is something you need to look at. Eliminate all junk food for a week and see what happens. If the weight starts moving down then maybe that great feeling will be better than any chocolate bar will taste!!

Best diet for Low starch, Low Sugar, High Protein
I would use this calculator
http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

and look into the Atkins, Ketogenic or South Beach to see what eating plan might work for you..

Why am I not losing weight?
and sometimes it comes down to honesty with yourself.

It's not always how much you eat , even though you often eat 176% or 157% of what your RDI is supposed to be but also what you consume....

alcohol, i.e. beer will slow your metabolism down that your body will burn those calories while storing the others. (5 in one day , really?)

Your food choices are not always the best and if you ate more nutritious wholesome foods and filled yourself up you wouldn't need the junk that you're eating , i.e. the chocolate bars???

Because of all the processed foods you are consuming your sodium levels are high and therefore your water retention is high.

You really need to learn about eating properly and within your RDI..

use that calculator to learn what it should be and then start making better nutritious choices and you'll start to lose and feel good and will be able to maintain it for life.
Best of Luck

Lo-carb preparing for bariatric surgery, anyone else haf the sleeve done?
Hello Sheila, first off, good on you for trying to do it on your own before the drastic step of surgery. You can do it. I don't know how much guidance your nutritionist has given you but from what I see on your food diary I think there's a few problems.
First I don't think that you are eating enough, Enough good nutritious foods that is.

Use this site to figure your RDI

http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

Then start eating tons of good nutritious vegetables, especially dark green ones, When you are on a low carb diet you should be getting most of your carbs from veggies that are high in fibre and make you feel full. If you're following Atkins then the rest should come from dairy and cheese. No simple carbs at all or as minimal as you can do!

Choosing what you eat should be for life not just to lose weight for now... hopefully when you do this on your own you will realize that you don't need the surgery..
Best Wishes
d

dust supplements
You also should visit your RDI as you lose weight.
Use this site with your new information to see what it should be.

Also have a look at your intake and see what your sodium intake is..this can seriously cause you to stall while maintaining water weight.
