My priorities: learning to walk in the way of Christ, learning to take better care of myself and applying what I learn to my family, supporting my children's education, maintaining our home, and (in the short term) preparing for a family trip to Disney/reunion in late Sept. 2012.

1)reluctant cook in a

3)budget that doesn't give us much of a choice but to home cook most of the time;
4)not highly photogenic;
5)still trying to figure out how to dance at nearly 40;
6)and able to laugh at all of this. :)

Why Not Less Than 1200 calories
I have learned that when it comes to nutrition, there are many varying view points. It can get confusing. Often, knowing what's best for your body is a matter of trying it out. A view point which varies from this one is the Johnson Up Day Down Day Diet (JUDDDD, It's a calorie cycling diet, restricting calories on alternate days, which has a lot of research support, and is getting a lot of recognition from doctors. I am trying it now after seeing a lot of positive results in friends. I won't say that it fits all people, but it has proven helpful for many.
