Hi! I am a mother of 2 kids and recently graduated from college. I gained about 50 lbs with my first pregnancy and as most moms do, I neglected myself and turned all my attention to my new baby. 8 months later, I got pregnant again with my second baby and gained another 20 lbs. When I started school, the pounds were slowly added on as I was not eating healthy and had no time to be active. Now that my kids are both in school and I have graduated (Woooohoooo!) I am focusing on myself. This is the heaviest I have ever been (although I was never a small girl)! I finally can focus on losing the weight that has been creeping up more and more as the years go by. Focus and determination are my weapons...LET'S DO THIS!!!!

losing inches...
So far I have lost about 12 inches and only 7 lbs. I have become a little obsessed with the scale. Any suggestions on how to stop this behavior?? I sometimes get discouraged when the scale is not moving...but I have stuck to Induction. I know that inches lost = fat lost...

also, I have read on some posts that tomatoes are not allowed on induction but the New Diet Revolution says that tomatoes are allowed?? Can someone please give me some insight???

I find myself cheating a little here and there
I have checked out a few books from the library. which includes an Atkins cookbook and Atkins for life. I have had to readjust my thinking of eating low fat...and readjust my eating to include more fats. The cookbook helps with meal ideas and quite a few snack ideas.

purchased Ketostix and color turned purple!!! yayyyy!

thanks everyone for your support and your suggestions! I will def. try them out. Kathy, the chips were not purchased by me but my fiance did Sad

I also purchased a used copy of the New Diet Revolution!!!! Excited to start reading it...as I jumped into the Atkins diet by reading about it on the website. I hope the book gives me a little more guidance!

Hey guys! I am new to Atkins...I do good during the day with my carb intake but at night I tend to hunt for quick snacks in my pantry. for a few days, I have been sneaking in some BBQ potato chips not many, or so what I think is not many Sad

How can I resist this and what can I substitute my snack cravings with?
