Hello! My name is Patricia and I am 23 years old. I live in Augusta, Ga and I am a 911 operator. I have been "thick" all my life. When I was in fifth grade I was the goal weight already, that I am trying to reach now. HAHA I have tried losing weight before in high school. I had gotten up to 195 pounds and I swore I would never pass 200 so I went on a diet and successfully lost 30 pounds. Over a year I put 15pounds back on and maintained it until I graduated. I have been a 911 dispatcher for five years and of course it is a sit down job. That was sabotage for my weight! By August of 2009, I reached 210 pounds. I got engaged June of 2009 and so by August, when I reached my largest size ever, and it was time to try on dresses I knew something had to be done. Plus, I had broken the promise to myself that I would never pass 200 pounds. So even though my profile shows I am new to this diet community, I have actually been dieting and working out for a year now and have lost 40 pounds so far! I will not stop at my wedding (October 2010) because I have always wanted to be in my healthiest form possible. I hope to eventually be able to run little marathons and do anything physical that my heart desires . . with ease.
I know 210 pounds seemed huge for me but I am not at all partial to any particular size of people. I have several overweight/obese members in my family as well as my fiancees' so I look at it like if you are making a commitment to lose the weight so that you can live a healthier more fulfilling life, no matter what size, congratulations!!!

Anyone Fall off the wagon and lose track of how long it was?
Lifes, I have the same exact problem. The first 30-35lbs I lost without hardly even exercising. I just followed my diet religiously. I have been stuck between 175-180 since May. I wrote a recent journal post about this, coincidentally. I didn't join a gym until June to try to get more pounds off and being more active didn't budge my number. You think you're frustrated after 3 weeks? Try 5 months!
So, over these last couple of months I have not been following my diet as closely, so I guess you could call that taking a break. Now I am really getting back on track so hopefully some magic will happen
