I am a married mental health professional in my 30's. Hubby and I are not having kids so I think it's important for me to stay in shape so we can grow old together and have lots of fun hiking, biking, etc! I work full time and we also own a 120 yr old house that needs lot of remodeling that we are doing ourselves because we don't have the money to hire it out. I've gained 40 pounds since I met my husband 5 years ago and now I am taking losing this weight as another huge project. I say it as a project because it seems to take the time and effort of calorie counting and exercising that remodeling a house does! Let me just say FatSecret is keeping me busy and motivated!

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
Wow I can relate to so many of you. A few years ago I went to the Rocky MOuntains with my husband and there was a full length mirror in our room. I knew I had gained weight because of the scale and buying new clothes but had not gotten a good look at myself in a few years. My body disgusted me! It has been up and down since then but I won't give up.
I used to LOVE in skirts and now I can't even put one on because my thihgs rub together so much, it hurts. And I won't ever get together with people from high school and avoid invites because I don't want them to see me 55lbs more than I was in high school. I will miss my 20 yr reunion next year if I don't get this weight off. I feel ashamed.
I am glad to see I am not alone
