My name is Kim. I am married with 3 boys (17,16,13). I have struggled with dieting for about 15 years. Actually it is probably longer than that...but the last 15 years have been worse. I have tried it all. I finally decided I needed to make a change...a lifestyle change. Temporary diets obviously weren't working for me...lol. Over the years I had managed to 'diet' myself from 135 to 200 lbs. I started this new chapter in my life on August 2, 2011. I have lost 59 lbs to date and still have 15 more to lose. I exercise regularly doing p90x(5-6 days per week). I gave up sugar and eat a lower carb diet...something I intend to maintain for life.

is it better start a diet even if u know your going to cheat
Moderation is the key. There are always going to be those special events in your life that you will not be AS good with your food. It is a choice. In order to be successful with your weight loss and maintenance, you have to understand that you can have your cake and eat it to...but not the whole cake. If you are going to a party, choose to have a meal you might not have eaten on a 'normal' day, but keep the portions under control and skip dessert or have a meal that you would have had on a 'normal' day and then have a dessert (reasonably sized). Have a glass of wine or drink, but not 2,3,10 of them.
Just a little note: if these 'special events' happen more than a few times per month, you might want to re-evaluate or choose which ones to allow yourself to wander off plan for.

So...how is everyone doing? I had a bit of a rough week...but I am still trucking along. I weighed in at 140.6 this morning. I am in the middle of a 3 day cleanse right now, but I have managed, so far, to exercise through it. I hope everyone is on track.....summer is just around the corner. And remember you don't want to be sitting on the couch a year from now wishing you'd started today.

My start weight was 198.6. I am currently at 142.6. It's moving slower now, but it is still coming off. So far today I have done p90x Chest, Shoulders and Arms, and I just finished a 4.5 mile walk. What a beautiful day!
