My name is John; I am 59 years old, husband, father of three, grandfather of five. I have probably lost the equivalent of my body weight over the years (and, of course, gained it all back). I can lose weight, but have historically been horrible at maintenance once I meet my goal weight. I first tried Atkins about 14 years ago; six years ago it was LA Weight Loss. I started my current weight loss effort using Weight Watchers in January of 2013, but switched over to calorie counting, as I found it easier (and more in line with the tools on this website). Using this website and increasing my activity has allowed me to lose 60 lbs in the past year. I have been maintaining for just over a year as of 8/23/14.

Hi Rosemary - if you want to delete a food just click on the "x" by the food. If you want to adjust quantity, then click on the food and it will take you to a screen where you can adjust portions and re-save your information. Hope this helps.

from points to calories
When I started on this website I kept WW points in a separate spreadsheet and entered calories here on FS. After keeping the dual records for about four months I realized I could drop the separate tracking of WW points and stick to calorie counting with the tools on this website. Question - how did you set your recommended daily intake (RDI)? That is a critical point - if you used the calculation on this website it is way too generous, and you could end up eating more than you would on WW. There are other sites that give you a better estimate of how many calories you should be taking in.
