My name is John; I am 60 years old, husband, father of three, grandfather of five. I have probably lost the equivalent of my body weight over the years (and, of course, gained it all back). I can lose weight, but have historically been horrible at maintenance once I meet my goal weight. I first tried Atkins about 15 years ago; 10 years ago it was LA Weight Loss. I started my current weight loss effort using Weight Watchers in January of 2013, but switched over to calorie counting, as I found it easier (and more in line with the tools on this website). Using this website and increasing my activity has allowed me to lose over 60 lbs. I have been maintaining for just over two years as of 8/17/15. I don't ever say I am "dieting"; instead, I am just trying to live a healthy lifestyle. I indulge occasionally (sometimes in a big way), but get right back with the program.
