What to do about clothes?
I usually wear them until they look REALLY bad... like I'm swimming in them. But I also hate shopping for clothes, so I might be in the minority here. Over the course of the 1.5 years losing weight, I've done a few big shops. When I got into 10s, I bought a few new pants. When I got down to a 6, I bought new ones again. 4-5 pairs at once. And I was afraid to give up the bigger sizes just in case I blew up again. It's scary and stressful but one day I just got tired of looking like a bum, so I went out and got new stuff. Good luck!

anyone out there doing some self-sabotaging?
thank you, everyone! I handled my birthday very well, even enjoyed some tasty Italian food, but I'm 'resetting' my brain in terms of my goals and what I really want from all of this. Stay tuned...

Hi everyone,

I'm about 4 pounds shy of my goal of 160, which I had been on track to hit this Saturday. My 30th birthday is Sunday and I've hit many little goals and milestones along the way since beginning this weight loss journey last August.

My problem - these past 2-3 weeks I've been self-sabotaging BIG time. Like, using up my daily WW points before 10 am, or bingeing on garbage like pop-tarts and BLTs... things I never ate even when I wasn't watching my weight!

I think that I'm scared to hit my goal because then I won't know what to do with myself. I've lost weight plenty of times (never this much and this is the lowest weight I've been since I was 18!) but I've never been able to maintain. So what can I tell myself or do to ease this anxiety?

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
Final straw - When my beautiful (and size 4) best friend and I were at a Mexican restaurant. I speak proficient Spanish and was talking with the guy behind the counter. He asked if she was single and I misunderstood and thought he asked me if I was. His face blanched and he repeated himself slowly in Spanish that he was asking about my friend.

Mortifying.

My Weight Watchers account was started that very afternoon and I haven't been back to that restaurant in almost a year. I'm hoping when I go, they don't recognize me as the once-fat gringa whose bad Spanish led her to believe that she was being hit on.

If you're using hormonal birth control, I can offer some insight into #3. I was struggling terribly with my weight loss while on oral contraceptives. I went off the pill because I was getting leg pains and was spooked that I might get a blood clot. Since going off the pill, my weight loss journey has gotten a little easier. Obviously, there are so many other variables involved. But I was using birth control for over 10 years and my weight gain began shortly after I started the pill... and I went up and down for that entire decade. Now that I'm off and my body has rid itself of the hormones that the pill had been supplying, I realize that it was for the better.

Obviously, all this may be completely useless to you if you're not on the pill. Sorry for the wasted space, then Smile
