I'm a 29 year old workaholic and recent transplant to the Pacific Northwest, originally from the East Coast. I started this journey in the beginning of March. My little sister was getting married, and I wanted to look good for her wedding.
Fitness has always been a big part of my life, but eating right had been a challenge. However, once I started to become aware of what I'd been using to fuel my body, the extra weight I'd put on over the years started to melt away. I thought it would be a lot harder to lose weight, but it has actually been a fun journey.
My sister's wedding has come and gone, and my journey continues to evolve. Now that I've lost over 12% of my old body, my strength gains have started to change as well. I've moved past my old fitness plateaus and I'm pushing my body in new ways. Who knows how much my body is capable of? My next challenge is finishing a 10K in October. Then who knows?
I'm inspired by the connection I feel with my body. We're suddenly working together instead of in opposition. It is a peaceful existence I'm not quite used to, but I'm certainly enjoying the ride.
