It's always just about the calories
I agree with this 100%. I'd like to add that even though you might go on a calorie deficit, do not go too low or you will not lose weight! It actually is counter productive to eat very little. Do only a slight deficit 20% less than it takes to keep the weight you are now.

Protein Intake to get ripped
.8 minimum even if you are going down in total weight. But to put on a good amount of muscle I do 1g. To really go up in weight, do like I say in my Gain 10 Pounds in 30 Days plan: 1.5g. But that's only if you're trying to put on 10 pounds in a month. Otherwise 1g is fine.

Macros Countdown please!
I'm loyal to FatSecret despite the tons of other apps and websites I've looked at.

Can you add a feature that counts DOWN your macros? Meaning, you set your goal of say, 1950 calories a day, 150g protein, 220 carbs, 60g fat and as you enter meals it show how many you have left in calories and each macro:

So far:
1750 calories, 200 calories left!

120g protein, 30g left!
110g carbs, 110g left!
70g fats, Oops, you went over by 10g.

Part of the IIFYM method of dieting.

I want to help.
Hi Chatterbox, I like your enthusiasm and ambition. 3 Zumba classes and a step class. Sounds good! After 4 weeks of that, how about replacing one Zumba class with a full-body weight training day. Do that for 4 weeks. Then 2 weight training days/week for another 4 weeks. don't be afraid of gaining too much muscle. You can always alter your training at any time, but lifting weights and making your muscles firm not only will make you look hot, but it will help melt the fat a lot faster! Good luck girl!
