I'm slightly confused with my diet
Yeah, unfortunately some of us have to compromise with those who we live with. Walk your talk and I’ll never comment again. Sorry I ever tried to help.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
No mummydee, I was not referring to this site or it's members at all. CheshireKat said she was reading things that confused her and I was suggesting that she pick the expert's opinions that fit the lifestyle she would like to lead and how to determine if they are actually experts. The advice I gave has worked and is working for me, but may not work for anyone else and even though it has worked for me in the past doesn't mean it will continue to work. So, take home: keep studying, keep looking for a better way, there is no one perfect right way. Also, when I wrote and posted to this topic I did not see anyone else's reply until after I posted because there is no auto refresh and I did not refresh the page.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
Yes there is a lot of information out there, a lot of people giving advice on weight loss and most completely contradict the last one you just read. What it all boils down to is, who do you trust? Why should you trust any of this info?

The easy answer:
Search sites that you know have experts giving advice in the field you are researching. Such as, the mayo clinic. Or if you like what you read on a particular web site you should check the page for the author's credentials (usually at the top left or bottom of the page). With little effort you can usually verify those credentials yourself. As to your question, are Carbs good or bad? The simple answer is yes. Just as fat is good and bad and protein is good and bad for you.

So it’s down to minding your Ps and Qs. Portions and Quality. I wish I still had the link to the site I read this on, but it was from http://www.everydayhealth.com . The most commonly agreed upon ratios are in the ranges of Fat = 20 – 35 percent, Protein = 10 – 35 percent, and Carbs = 45 – 60 percent. Now, that doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want within these ratios and expect to lose weight or be healthy. http://woman.thenest.com/recommended-daily-intake-calories-carbs-fat-sodium-protein-1101.html

I won’t do all the work for you and it wouldn’t do you any good because you have to find your own path and what works best for you. But as an after note I’ll tell you that 700 Calories a day is a starvation diet and will fail. You see, when you are on a starvation diet your metabolism slows and your weight loss will stall and you could possibly (believe it or not) put on more weight. The minimum amount of calories you should take in a day is approximately 1200 and that is not taking into account your activity level. Happy hunting.
I wish you the best of luck in your goals,
DavidB.
