It's simple. But it's not easy.

That about sums up trying to lose this extra weight.

I'm female and 54. For most of my life I was a competitive athlete (swimming, rowing, mnt biking) and was often the only female in the weight room.
Then,three or four years ago some pretty heavy things happened to me. I got through it all, but I packed on a lot weight during that time.

At my highest I was 40 -45 lbs over my normal weight. I never thought that would happen. But it did. And having gone through that has given me a lot of perspective.

This site has helped me re-establish good eating patterns. Looking forward to your support.

I'm getting older and all the research proves that keeping your weight at a healthy level improves your quality of life and longevity.

Anyone who is interested should look at a recent, definitive report on diet and cancer. Fascinating.

I'm going back Monday. No squats, burpees or cleans for me, but I suspect I'll be doing a kajillion pull ups, push ups and dips. They always seem to find a way to punish me!

PS: If you want a great body-weight workout, checkout simplefit.com. Really switched on community and a good workout (esp if you are travelling).

Wow. It seems to be working for you. I have missed a week and a half b/c of a knee injury. Great trainers at my facility so they will get me back on course. But I feel so lazy.

Facts on Fish
I stopped eating ocean fish several years ago. Instead I eat cold fresh-water fish (trout, perch etc.).
Remember that for EVERY pound of fish you eat there is NINE pounds of net kill ... all the other ocean going creatures and fish that are killed and dumped back so you can have that one pound of fish.

When I see someone eating bluefin tuna, I may as well be watching someone eating a snow leopard or panada bear.

We are killing the oceans. Wake up. Read about it. Try to do your part to help save our oceans.
