Hi guys! It's nice to meet you. Let me tell you a bit about myself Although I am fairly new Fatsecret, I am not new to dieting. I have stuggled with weight for most of my life. In February of 2013 I met a wonderful new friend who introduced me to "Atkins for Life". I was skeptical but tried it anyway. Wow! I couldn't believe that something so easy to follow and that had food I liked could actually help me lose weight. I know for the rest of my life I will eat low carb. I am ever so slowly inching (ha ha!) my way down to a healthy body and mind. I love seeing the gradual changes like the arm on the dentist's chair that closes now and realizing that I have hip bones and it can hurt to sit on a hard floor. A plus is all of the thrift store shopping I get to do. :)
My wonderful hubby of 25 years and my beautiful daughter are so very supportive of my diet and help keep me in check. They take opportunities to brag about me make me feel special. My daughter never new a healthy, active me and is surprised by the new energy and my husband is excited to have his old wife back. Nice chatting with you and sharing a bit about myself. I hope to make some new friends to help hold me accountable.
Thanks for your time.

What do you have to be thankful for in life
My faith in God, My husband and daughter, my family, my friends, my house. Honestly there are so many things to list. On a "lighter" note here are some things that I am thankful for associated with weight loss. Crossing my legs again, Seeing I still have collar bones and hip bones, walking uphill without being out of breath, knowing that hunger is not a bad thing and that I can overcome it instead of it overtaking me.

Weight Loss stall?
My weight loss last week was incredible. I lost 8 pounds in 7 days. I have decided to increase the intensity of my exercise and am now seeing a stall. Is this because of an increase in muscle mass? At what point should I expect the loss to begin again?

What to eat
I have been on Atkins now for 3 weeks. Although I still experience dawn phenomenon,my waking glucose has dropped from 150-190 down to 120 average. woohoo! My average throughout the day is around 100. The weight is slowly coming off and I have more energy than I have had in years.
