I am a 67 year old male that is married. I like to bicycle and I try to keep fit regardless of my weight. I never started to gain alot of weight until I reached my middle 50's. I never had to worry since my metabolizm was always working well. As I got older, I started to gain and didn't know what I could do to prevent it, short of starving myself. I am a non-smoker and very active. Although I get into a lazy mode of not working out and going for walks. Last year I spent about 6 months training to go on a sponsored tour of our state. It was about 454 miles and I trained my muscles and the time on the bicycle was crucial since there were long rides.
My goal for now is to get my weight done around 240 to make this bike ride. I was heavier last year and I managed quite well throuhout the ride. I do believe in core excercises and these really seem to help. I do listen to my body when it is getting taxed. My total goal for now is to reach 220 lbs before the end of year. After that I will go for further weight loss.
