I am a 67 year old male that is married. I like to bicycle and I try to keep fit regardless of my weight. I never started to gain alot of weight until I reached my middle 50's. I never had to worry since my metabolizm was always working well. As I got older, I started to gain and didn't know what I could do to prevent it, short of starving myself. I am a non-smoker and very active. Although I get into a lazy mode of not working out and going for walks. Last year I spent about 6 months training to go on a sponsored tour of our state. It was about 454 miles and I trained my muscles and the time on the bicycle was crucial since there were long rides.
My goal for now is to get my weight done around 240 to make this bike ride. I was heavier last year and I managed quite well throuhout the ride. I do believe in core excercises and these really seem to help. I do listen to my body when it is getting taxed. My total goal for now is to reach 220 lbs before the end of year. After that I will go for further weight loss.

Cheat Day
I don't look at me being on a diet. I am making this my way of life. I ate about everything that will fatten a person up and I am saying no to foods that store carbs in your body. Yes, potato chips, Fritos, and etc are good for taste. But eating too much and not controling portions will definitly will make you fat. I know, I have done it for many years and kept telling myself that I haven't ate that much. There are some days I eat more than I want but I try to stay under what my calorie count should be for my size. That way I don't have that guilt and I know that I will stay on track for weight loss. Keep recording what you eat and you will have no problem of staying on top of your eating habits.

Living a Happy and full life
To live a happy and full life a person first of all has to find themselves in this world. Like what is my purpose. Don't be afraid to explore where you fit in this giant world. If you believe in a God then you should pursue what He will have in store for you. I believe that every humun being has a purpose in this world no matter how big or small the purpose. Don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. If you are in the minority, keep an open mind and study your reasons to see if you might be in error.
This country was founded on the principal of freedom for all of its people, no matter what their beliefs are. We need to co-habitat with each other even if our views are different. Anger is a choice and a happy person will find an inner peace with themselves and their neighbors. Remember you are the one that has to live with yourself!
