After being pregnant I was 200 back in Feb 2010, I lost 30 lbs with minimal effort. At 170 the weight loss slowed.
I tried and failed with calorie counting and exercise from April to November. On November 4th, 2010 I decided that I had to make some changes and stick with them. I sat down with my mom and we set up our own diet.
Treat Free Diet:
Stay under 1500 calories
Drink 64 oz of water
No eating after 7 PM
We made a daily checklist that we marked off during the week. At weigh in each week we compared. This kept us accountable to each other and I was keeping the goals almost 100%. I lost 29 lbs from Nov. 4, 2010 to Jan. 25, 2011.
I never really had a chance to maintain before my second pregnancy. Unfortunately I didn't control myself and hit 200 once again! I found myself in a rut like I did after pregnancy #1. I tried the treat free diet again, but never committed. I lost here and there, but didn't have the same success that I did before. A difference is I don't live close to my mom to "weigh-in" anymore, but we are still weighing in once a week via texting (along with some others, 6 of us have a "weight loss blog" where we have to weigh in once a week and its recorded on the blog).
By May 28th, 2013 I had gained 8 lbs, and wasn't going the right direction. May 28th started a new weight loss challenge that I organized. It includes my brothers and parents. Basically the first to lose 20 lbs gets a USU Hoodie. I'll update when I win, perhaps update my profile pic sporting my new sweater :)
