I started losing weight in January 2004 when I weighed 332 pounds. I lost 152 pounds and got down to 180 pounds by December 2006. At that time, I won the Curves National Sweetheart Award and was featured as a success story on Richard Simmons site. After that time, I slowly gained about 30 pounds by 2009. Then I injured my back and couldn't exercise plus my thyroid medicine (Synthroid) was drastically reduced by an endocrinologist who thought I was taking too much. When in reality, I wasn't converting the Synthroid from the inactive T4 to the active T3 thyroid hormone. I left that endocrinologist and went with another doctor who seemed to know better how to control my thyroid issue. But I gained another 30 pounds over that year and reached a new recent high of 239 pounds. I joined Weight Watchers and started losing weight again and have lost 30 pounds so far.
