I'm a mother of three wonderful girls and have two granddaughters and one grandson. I'm was an otr truck driver and I am now a stay at home mamaw. I quit smoking Febuary 9th, after thirty years, and started gaining weight rapidly. I ran across this site and became addicted lol. I now have all three of my daughters on here as well. :) I'm not looking for the quick fix but a lifestyle change.

We've been playing around with Zumba and she enjoys that one, I peronally can't stand it lol. Another member said to have her do the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and see how she did with that one first, so I bought her that one tonight. No matter what she goes with, she's eating healthier and walks alot so I think it will just be a stepping stone or challenge on a road to good health overall.

Permisson to Brag
After 30 years today is three months without a cigarette. I've recorded my food for 43 days, even when I blew it and didn't want to. I went from NO water, (two pots of coffee a day and then soda) to 4-6 bottles of water a day. I eat about every two hours instead of every two days and it's healthy, good food instead of fast food or junk food. My hair is no longer falling out in clumps and I can wear jeans instead of sweats. My daughters are coming over to exercise with me and my danes do a happy dance because they know mom is actually going to walk them. Thank you for starting this post, that felt great!

Thank you. I've been using to calculate the calories burned for exercise instead of FS and I just list them under "other". It's the sitting, standing, housework etc that I have a hard time believing.

I've read on several posts record everything you do. So I have been but are the calories expended actually correct? I don't think I'm getting the right numbers from the exercise log. I did the math today and if it takes a deficit of 3500 calories a week to loose one pound I should be dropping about 2.6 a week. I exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. Does the 3500 deficit need to be from calories burned through exercise to actually work right?
