Saddest story of Obesity
Mahara - I think you're right, this is definitely an addictions. There's interventions for drug use, alcohol, gambling - there should be an intervention for her for this. And it's disgusting that people are validating her unhealthy and toxic lifestyle.

She seems to be out of touch with reality, or in major denial.

Since launching her site, Donna has gained 7st. Incredibly, she doesn’t care that reaching 72st will probably confine her to a wheelchair and could kill her, leaving her daughter – who she feeds a healthy diet – motherless.
“I’m well enough to cope with my target weight,” she says defiantly.

I'm sorry but it doesn't matter how well you are, no one is supposed to be 1000lbs. That type of weight is going to cause major health problems (which she's well on her way to) and more sadly death. You'd think that someone with children, especially a young daughter, would do their best to try and live a long life, to see their kids grow old.

Not So Fast Food
I used to drive by fast food restaurants on my way to work and it was always really tempting to get something. That's probably why I had gained so much weight in the past few years.

Now I'm eating healthier and avoiding driving by all those restaurants on my way to work. And I've made a promise to myself that if I really want some fast food, I have to walk, run or bike there... no driving. The closest restaurant to my house is about 2km away, so at least I'll get a work out before I go. And hopefully the more healthy I eat, the less fast food I'll crave.

What is my size?
That's hard to say, because sizes vary at every store and with every retailer. Myself for example, sometimes I'm a 14, sometimes I'm a 16 and sometimes I'm an 18 - just depending on what store I'm at.

Really the only way to know what size you are is try on clothes. If you're worried about spending a lot of money, why not try going to a thrift store. Pick out some clothes that look like they might fit you and try them on. If you like them and want to buy them at least they're inexpensive. And if you don't like what you're trying on, well at least you'll be able to tell what size you are.

Shoes
I've never heard of the Reebok ones. I know Sketchers has something similar that's supposed to help you tone up. I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the SturgeonQueen. If they work and are pretty comfortable, I might buy a pair to wear at work (I can wear runners as long as they're black).

A bit of help for me :)
For me I'm taking baby steps, and focusing on one thing at a time. I've got a food journal and calorie counter app on my ipod. It's helping me see where I go wrong with my food choices (like drinking pop which is empty calories). Consider just writing down what you eat for a week and see if there are changes there that you can make. Like having an apple for a snack instead of a cookie. Every little bit helps. Very Happy
