Born 1951, 5'10", I'm an information systems professor. In June 2010 I set out to get down to 169 by my 60th birthday in September 2011. The last time I was that weight was in about 1997. I got to about 174, which was ok with me at the time. My weight has fluctuated a bit since then, and I'm still working on getting it down. Why 169? I like the sound of being in the 160's, it would be 45 pounds lost which is nice round number, and besides, I graduated from high school in '69!

Purchased low carb crackers
Aha -- I found that link to low-carb bread:

I am pleased to see they sell it at Whole Foods in Portland, OR, so I can go by and get some.

I found another website where people were recommending Cheeters crackers, which have been renamed Smackeroos. (Not Snackeroos, as I typed previously.) These are available online.

Purchased low carb crackers
Does anyone buy a brand of low-carb cracker that they'd like to recommend?

I have been googling "low carb crackers" and found several brands which I'm willing to try. But if someone has a recommendation, that would be helpful.

In my web surfing I thought I came across a brand of pre-baked low-carb bread, but now I'm not finding that, I'm only finding bread mixes.

I'm willing to try a recipe for baking low-carb bread, but the recipes for making crackers make it sound like it is tricky, and I think I'd rather just buy the crackers.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Weight loss rate and time to goal is not useful
Somewhere on this site (can't figure out where, now that I'm looking for it), the site tells me, "You are losing weight at the rate of 7 pounds per week and you will be at your goal in one month" or ".... 1/2 pound per week and you will be at your goal in 2 years" etc. Clearly this is calculated based only on my most recent weigh-in, which makes it worthless, IMHO. Just because I had one good or one not-so-good weigh-in does not tell me ANYTHING about when I am likely to reach my goal. I think they should EITHER 1) use the weight loss rate average for my entire time of dieting, or 2) get rid of this feature entirely.
