Hi I am new to this website and found it by way of the Atkins site. I have some weight to lose and it would be nice to have a support group even if it is a cyber one :)
I am 56 and have two grown kiddos and one 13 yr old grandson. I work seasonally and am lucky to live in a rural area. Plenty of peace and quiet here
I am an avid knitter/crocheter/bookworm. Used to paint and work with clay and do all sorts of stuff that I seem to have put by for knitting. I am going to learn to spin too! :) So as you can see I sit waaaaaaaaaaaay too much.
I was very successful on the Atkins diet (Diet Revolution) 10 years ago and lost 82 lbs. But in the past 4 years or so it snuck up on me I am afraid. SO her I am looking at Square One again. I know I can do this but I would rather wake up and find it disappeared in the night. Oh well. Carbs are my downfall and I don't mean pasta which I do not eat often. I mean junk/refined/trash/food and breads and baked goods (mine).

I want to be healthy and I don't want to leave this life sooner than I have to so I am losing this weight!!! And it is not coming back again.

Induction should be 65% Fat, 30% Protein, & 5% Net Carbs ~~ I am adding this here so I will remember it! Thanks RaRa!

too much fat?
On Atkins Fat is good! I know the numbers look scary but when all is said and done you probably won't eat this level of fat again. I have been using the original Atkins diet and I have lost 50 lbs since March. I do stay on Induction though. I guess people who want to lose more slowly can use Induction for a couple of weeks but I want it gone... so I have stuck to the net 20 carb program.

1 tsp baking powder/ quarter of a cup flax (4 tbs)/1tbs Parmesan shaker cheese/
quarter tsp Tone's Garlic and Herb seasoning/1tsp Italian Seasoning/pinch of salt/ 1 egg (large)/1 Tbs Olive Oil/1 Tsp water. Mix it really well and I think It took me about 1 minute and 30 secs to cook it. In my cup it gives me 5 slices. I was wonderful with my salad!

I made a savory one to go with my salad tonight and I think I am in love. It was sooooo good. Just made the whole meal.

I thought the MIM recipes were a real breath of fresh air. I haven't really been craving bread but it is nice to have something to put things on other than a lettuce leaf! I have made the basic and this morning I added pumpkin to that recipe. Tomorrow I am going to make a savory one for a sammich! LOL!
