Hi - I just turned 48 and have struggled with my weight all my adult life. With all the numerous yo yo diets, pills, etc, I finally made the decision to undergo bariatric surgery on 4/14/11.
Even though I had the surgery, it is still challenging to determine what foods I am able to eat & monitoring my weight loss - unfortunately the weight isn't coming off as easily as I had anticipated!
I am journaling & now exercising! The doctor's indicated that the surgery is only a tool & that it will require a permanent lifestyle change. I am a new member of fatsecret.com & this is a wonderful tool to assist on my journey!
