Hi, I'm Karen and I'm overweight. I started "The New Atkins for a New You" on November 1, 2015 as recommended by my endocrinologist. I weighed 258 then. (I had weighed as much as 290 post surgery and 310 pre-surgery.) I exercise at least 3 times per week plus some walking. I really can't believe this WOE (Way of eating) is working for me. Help and support me if you can.

I have also had diabetes for over 25 years and am trying to control it. It is getting better with the low carb diet and exercise.

I have been overweight a long time. I had bypass surgery and lost weight for about 5 years. But then I had a nervous breakdown and ate to feel better. (REALLY, REALLY dumb I know.) I gained most of the weight back. Now that I am 56 and have a good WOL (Way of Life) to control my diabetes and nerves, I want to get serious about losing the weight again and live longer to see my 3 beautiful granddaughters grow up.

For those of you on Low-Carb diets
My endocrinologist (Diabetes Doctor) put me on the Atkins program to lower my blood sugar and hopefully lose some weight. The MIMs definitely help me lower my blood sugar so I will keep eating them.

@Sherillynn - thanks for the help
@rick2038 - you're wrong, it doesn't have the same calories or carbs as chocolate cake. The MIMs have helped me tremendously. I will try to limit to 1 per day.
Thanks for all the input, I tried one with ranch dressing and garlic powder and it is perfect for a hamburger bun. I intend to keep eating them. The original question was about limiting them and I need to do that. Thank you all for your input.

For those of you on Low-Carb diets
jlbenitz, I tried a MIM with picante sauce and parmesan cheese. It was perfect for a hamburger bun. I may try ranch dressing instead of picante just to see. Thank you again for the great ideas. You made my savory MIM bread work.

Thanks for ideas, jlbenitz. I haven't had any luck so far with savory ones. But I may try again with picante sauce and garlic powder. I want one I can use as a hamburger bun or sandwich bread.

For those of you on Low-Carb diets
I changed the recipe to rounded teaspoons of ground flax seed. Kroger has this on sale for $2.04 right now. Also, be sure to stir well. It will bubble after stirring. I hope you like them.
PS - I ate salad today and enjoyed it. I am still on track.
