I've had a cracking go at finally getting rid of the spare tyre/puppy fat I've been hauling around for a *few* years. I'm really pleased with the progress I made, thought it would take longer than 8months, and I honestly feel I have been given a new body to play with.
Thanks to all on FS who supported and helped along the way, I hope I can now return the favour to other members too, so all the best and keep going.
Ok, some tips/reminders of my approach.
° Record food diary using FS (just the act of writing down what I eat helps)
° Smaller portions (stomach gets smaller, hunger pangs easier to cope with)
° Don't buy naughty food from shops (if it's not in the cupboard, I cannot eat it)
° Try not too eat after 9pm (gets easier, now I don't snack after my last meal)
° Go to bed early (less chance of snacking)
° Have long relaxing bath in evening (takes my mind off food & I feel great)
° When walking from A to B, go via C (the extra distance quickly adds up)
° Make your own sweet treats (you burn calories by cooking them)
° Alternate resistance training and fat burn cardio (keep muscle, lose fat)
° I try to have half a grapefruit before every meal
° My body does need rest and a good nights sleep
° When watching TV think "worth watching or could I be doing something else"
° Get the tape measure out, don't just rely on scales, and log it.
° I use FS to plan next days breakfast, one less thing to think about in morning!
