What is your favourite/most used food for weight loss?
Wow - loving the explosion of participation and information on this page. Some really interesting ideas for me (and anyone) to research and explore. Thanks for the reminder of the eggs! Somehow I've been overlooking them as a good source of protein - must bring them back into the mix.
To add to the discussion of finding what's right for you (me), I researched the appropriate balance between carbs, fats and proteins for the average (non-diabetic) person, and I found it to be a 40/30/30 blend, so that's what I try and stick to. My carb sources are generally veggies, some fruits, and some whole grains (quinoa is a good one). I try and make the protein sources lean (0% yogurt as mentioned, and seafood, - I do eat and love red meat), and then keeping an eye on my fat intake. I try and minimize my salt and sugar intakes based on the source (fruit sugars are okay, sweets not so much), similar to my fat intake - avocado's are good, so if I'm over on my 30% fat because of avocado, that's okay. But if I'm over because of eating untrimmed rib eye steak, maybe I should eat a bit less of it Wink
Everything is allowed in moderation; look to the overall goal. Good health is not denying everything "bad". Good health includes good mental health, which means a bit of dark chocolate with a cup of tea in the evening is just fine.

What is your favourite/most used food for weight loss?
Mine is 0% Greek yogurt. I use a 50/50 mix of plain and honey flavours (because I don't like just plain, but this way I am minimizing sugar). I have this for breakfast every day, often on oatmeal, or with fruit and/or granola. High in protein, low in fat and sugar... can't go wrong. I'll also mix it into smoothies for an on-the-go meal, and occasionally I'll have some as a snack if I'm hungry. Wondering what everyone else's go-to weight loss food is??

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I aim for once a week, but if I'm feeling skinnier, I'll jump on to see how I'm doing Smile

Hello all! Happy New Year!!
I'd like some buddies on here too Smile I lost 15 lbs on here nearly 2 years ago but have now gained it all back (the last 5 over this December!). So I'm back on the wagon and would love to lose 25-30 this time (and of course, keep it off!). Mutual encouragement and inspiration would be great Smile
