This weigh-in is actually last Friday's weight, only with all that was going on and traveling, I did not get a chance to record anything over the holiday weekend so this is to catch up.

We had dinner guests on Friday night and I did really well with my woe, I think. I even skipped the wine and had tea.

Saturday was amazing. First, hubby and I went to the hospital to visit his BIL, and we praise Jesus that he is doing so well! Even the hospital is amazed at his recovery. Then we went out to eat at a restaurant called "Charleston's," and had prime rib and salad. No bread, no croutons, no side vegetable, no wine. I did really well there. And to end the day we anchored our pontoon boat in the middle of the lake to night fish and watch all the fireworks going on around the lake. It's our first summer at the lake house we bought for hubby to stay at during the work week (since our home is too far for him to commute) and we didn't really know what to expect. Besides all those around the lake shooting fireworks, a neighboring community had their annual fireworks display, which is perfectly visible from out in the lake! It was a date to store in my memory bank as very close to being the best 4th of July ever. I did allow myself to have two alcoholic drinks mixed with Sparkling Ice Coconut and Pineapple flavored, zero carb, sparkling water and Rum. (yummy)

Sunday, hubby and I spent the day hanging out and just fishing from the docked pontoon boat. We lunched on deviled eggs and olives, and dinner was fried fish, and pan fried whole unbreaded okra and one glass of wine.

Except for the glass of wine with dinner, and the rum and flavored water on Saturday (only because I had chosen to avoid all alcohol during the first two weeks), and except for consuming too much in general, I did really well with my food choices all weekend.

THEN an unusual and amazing thing happened Sunday evening after dinner, as we were cruising around the lake in the pontoon boat. On the shore we saw two young men and a black lab dog. We had gone past them and were watching as the dog swam out in the water, and the opposite direction from where we were going. Then we realized the dog was sinking! He was overweight and possibly older, and though I've never heard of a dog drowning, it very much looked like that's what he was doing because he was struggling to keep his head above water and kept going under!! We yelled at the men and asked if the dog was in trouble, as the dog just kept swimming away from the bank. They yelled back that yes he was! They were yelling to the dog, who would not turn around and go toward them. Hubby turned the pontoon boat around and went back. He was getting ready to go in the water after the dog, but I said, "no let me, I can't drive the boat and I can't sink either, let me go." Hubby knows the boat, and he can sink! So I jumped in the water and was able to help the dog stay afloat and get back to shore. How awesome is that!! Finally, my fat came in handy for something. I used to have a swimming pool and I learned then, at 250+ lbs I float like a bobber, I can't sink! All around it was an amazing weekend. I count my blessing and I find no end. Thank You Lord Jesus for the more than abundant life You bless me with.

First full week, lost 6lbs in one week. Bulletproof coffee and fat bombs are making this easier this time around. Praying even though the losses should slow down that the losses keep coming. Thank you Jesus!

The next days are going to be a really challenge. My brother-in-law was sent by ambulance yesterday to Harris, Fort Worth and is in Neuro ICU right now. They found a mass on his brain and don't know what it is. So, he's scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. At present, he's the sole financial provider for 5 adults (including himself) and 2 small granddaughters. He's very likely to lose his job over this absence, and they live in a tiny town where jobs are more than scarce, they're rare. So, God willing, and he recovers fully, (that's what I'm believing for) he is still going to have a lot to deal with ahead of him. My challenge in this is spending time at the hospital and/or away from home, where making sure the right foods are available. I'm really, really going to try to stay on track.
