I am a mom to 4 amazing daughters, 5,4 and twin 8 month olds, and have been married for 10 years. I don't want to be a "fat mom" and an embarrassment to them or myself. I've been overweight since graduating high school and miss feeling good about my body. Looking forward to losing weight and gaining confidence. Hoping to make some buddies to aid in my motivation. I LOVE success stories and find them to be the ultimate inspiration! If I have asked you to be a buddy it's either because we share similar backgrounds, goals and journeys or because I am inspired by your story.

** 40 pounds down and feeling more motivated than ever to reach my goal weight by may when I turn 30. I want to just be maintaining once I'm in my 30's. finished my first 5k this month and already registered for another. Ready to hit the gym and realize my potential. It's weight loss thing has been the hArdest (but rewarding) thing I've ever done!!!

** At 31 I had twins and put back on some weight. Now I am using the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to jumpstart my weight loss and help me maintain. I kept the weight off for a pretty long time and now that I'm done having kids, it needs to be PERMANENT! Not a diet, a lifestyle!

Weight loss Irritation
I agree with Heidijoy... Tracking your food for a few weeks will really help focus on problem foods. I have done that and discovered what my body does best with... Like her, I lose more when I keep my carbs and fat low and eat more lean protein. I joined a gym and gradually started to exercise. I tried some classes because I would get bored just doing cardio by myself and found that I love the body pump class. I have also been doing Couch to 5k and that has helped me build up my endurance and keeps it to a quick 30 minutes.

Also - and this is kind of personal - but my sister has had similar problems with only losing 10 pounds and then getting stuck no matter what she does. She has an IUD. Her doctor has told her that it can be difficult to lose weight with an IUD. Just FYI.

Good luck and try not to get discouraged. I have been stuck at my current weight and recently decided that I just need to keep working out and even if the number on the scale stays the same, atleast I am getting toned and in better shape. I have noticed I moved to a smaller clothes size even having not lost much weight lately!

weight watchers online
In my experience there wasn't much benefit in doing both. when I was doing WW online I pretty much just used that. Their site seems much easier to calculate points and since it's their ww site, it's all centered around their philosophies. Starting this past January, (to save money) I canceled my ww online membership and switched to just using FatSecret. Here, I found it's easier to count calories and just make healthier food choices. (That's pretty much what ww is too.) I've continued to lose weight and really enjoy this site. Good luck!

What should my percentages of Carb/Fat/Protein be?
So I am really trying to learn as much as possible about being/eating healthy and hopefully teach my children healthy habits. I have been using the weight watchers method but recently started tracking my calories....(and using the food tracker so I'm tracking everything!) My proteins were the smallest percentage and fat/carbs equaled about the same. I ate a ton of veggies but those consist of a lot of carbs. Should I be cutting those out and eating more protein throughout the day? Thanks!

can anyone tell me were to start with the weight watchers diet plan?
I was using their online plan and purchased a calculator. Due to their change in points calculations, it's no longer as easy to calculate the number of points you should be allowed. You pretty much have to join in order for them to tell you. BUT - their new calculator will do it for you so if you go online and purchase one, you will be able to "get around" joining (if that's what you wish to do). I am following WW and love it but just cancelled my account and am going to use FatSecret and my calculator to continue. Good Luck!!
