Sugar Addict/Chocoholic!!! Are you one & how do you deal with it?
I think my sugar addiction comes and goes in cycles. Sometimes I REALLY want it and other times it's just meh. I kind of had this problem before I started low carb (again) though...I'd go on a sugar binge and then a starch binge and then a salt binge. And in between I don't feel much like eating anything or I want vegetables badly! I'm actually not doing too badly with the cravings except I miss certain textures that I can't duplicate, like chewy (a la Twizzlers). Or French bread. I drink a LOT of water and that usually kills the cravings for me. And in the evening I have a hot cup of tea.

One thing I've heard people saying is that if you really have a bad sugar craving, stay away from sweet things until it's out of your system. I don't know what plan you are following, but I do know on Atkins in Phase two you can start to add berries back at one point so if that's what you are doing it's something to look forward to!

lost 13 lbs past 4 weeks, just real food, no fake food(bars or shakes)
I have to agree with you PeeFat (lol love that name BTW!). Yesterday I was at a GS cookie sale with my daughter next door to Publix. Well, stupid me, I assumed I'd be able to get something to eat at a grocery store! Can you believe there were NO convenience foods I could eat?!? Even the salads had TONS of carbs in them!! On a side note: Who puts potato salad in a Greek salad? So stupid! Well in desperation I grabbed an Advantage bar since it seemed to be the only allowable food available. Well I admit it was very tasty but sweet isn't really what I wanted, and I gradually began to feel not so "right". Here I am today in bed with a horrible stomach ache and nausea and, since I didn't eat anything else out of the ordinary I suspect it was the bar. So I won't try that again! Supposed to be starting OWL today, but the way I'm feeling I don't believeI will be able to eat 25 carbs. Thanks, but no thanks.

Homemeade salad dressing?
I've been on Atkins for a week now and someone there directed me to this site to better track my net carbs. It's nice because I can see exactly how I'm doing and that I'm on track. But I've hit a snag. I don't know how to enter salad dressing! The problem is, I make my own and I always have even before Atkins because I just don't like what's in the shelf brands. Not just the sugar but the soy (I don't eat soy except for shoyu or maybe tamari or tempeh). So here's the thing; do I HAVE to break down each ingredient in my dressing? If so, the problem with that is, I make my dressing in quantity and I don't know how much of any ingredient is in a serving. Is there a quick way I can count it? It's an olive oil vinaigrette that I add Dijon mustard and sour cream to, and then I blend in about a tablespoon of flaxseed oil.
