I'm back! And as you can see, I've had a dreadful year. A lot of periods with poor motivation, with so much else to occupy my thoughts and time. Just put on nearly 3kg on a short (12 day) trip to Australia, so not very pleased with myself. Also had a lot of house guests and discovered that my decision to eat healthy, home-cooked food despite who is visiting, actually isn't very practical. I can't afford to feed them all the same keto food we eat, and most of them couldn't, or wouldn't have wanted to, afford to contribute to the cost of buying western foods here in Malaysia. And once I'm driving them to a restaurant somewhere, we end up eating there too. As this has been around half the days this year (that we've had house guest/s), you can see my predicament. Despite our attempts to eat healthily while out, I think we have firmly established that it's not possible here in Malaysia to do so and actually lose weight.
Anyway, for now I am feeling pretty motivated. I think it helps that my husband has agreed to do regular exercise with me, though he hasn't made any move in the few days since then, to actually get up and do something. I find it very unmotivating when he isn't making any headway in the weight struggle, as it's so much more imperative that he loses weight. So if he can get into exercising with me, it will help my motivation no end.
I've got my shopping list ready and going to head out soon to buy the rest of the groceries I need for this week's menu. I'm going to try to track calories as well as carbs for a while, while we get into the swing of this low-carb (as opposed to ketogenic) diet. I have also decided that exercise is the key, despite having lost a god deal of weight initially on the ketogenic diet before. I have to get my metabolism burning and I'm hoping that exercise and variation in our diet will get our metabolisms more active.
I'm hoping to be back down to 80kg by Christmas. New goal!
