After appearing on a national TV show looking heavier than ever, and having my daughter comment that I look like the "slimy guy from Star Wars" while I sleep, I am hoping to finally get a grip on my compulsive over eating as I am the heaviest I have ever been and be healthy again. I only had 2 years of my life where my eating was relatively normal and balanced, the rest have been marked with binging and yo yoing weight. I don't want to be unhealthy the rest of my life, I want to figure out how to go one day at a time making better food choices and kick the eating chocolate all day habit I have had for years.
And then later on today, mom shows up with cookies :) Lucky for me there was only one so I split it between the kids, but I was actually hungry when I had a snack earlier and ate more than I planned so the cookie was a test of my willpower. Man losing weight is hard. Trying to deal with feelings as they come up is harder without that chocolate bar crutch I have been using for over a year.
