As I approach my goal I'm having mixed feelings about my arrival? On one point I know I'm still over 15 lbs overweight and on the other hand I've lost 54 + the final 10 will be 64 and maybe I should give my body time to adjust to this new weight? And practice maintenance.

Wow! Great Job! I'm just trying to figure this maintenance thing out and it will take some time. One thing you might try is just slowing down .. approach your goal more gradually by adding in calories each week. That will give your body time to adjust more gradually and will also help you to figure out how to maintain.

Do what feels right when you get there. I think maintenance may be as different from one person to another as is weight loss. My experience this summer -- totally by accident, not design -- was that maintenance turned out to be giving myself the freedom to eat more and more diversely when socializing with friends and family and then when not partying, go back on my eating plan and stay very disciplined until the next family event. That approach got me through the summer -- through two vacation trips, plus bunches of family visiting and a variety of social events. So I think that you have to figure out maintenance in relationship to your own lifestyle. For me, now that the summer is over, I seem to be able to get back on least until Thanksgiving!
