Okay... Up 1/2 pound. I am disappointed in myself, but at the same time I am thinking it could be worse, considering all the social events this past weekend with turkey dinners and deserts. I didn't exercise the last two days and didn't drink as much water. My bad.

BUT today is a new day and "onward and upward" from here. Got to learn new techiques for resisting when temptation is put in front of me. I am doing great with saying no thanks to food offered but then when people are eating it around u... Its hard. In my head I am saying.. Stay strong, u can do this, keep drinking water, u r not hungry... Sometimes it works lol. Sometimes it don't lol

Anyone got any advice for resisting? Besides not attending? Lol

Sometimes it helps to eat before the social engagement and to plan ahead what you can have and not have when presented. Think about why you want to lose weight.

1/2 pound doesn't mean you're starting over! Someone here on FS pointed out that she had been really deathly ill and when she recuperated, it changed her outlook on the little things like 1/2 pound. She helped me by sharing this and I hope you get the message to be kind to yourself and just keep moving forward! WE CAN DO THIS! :)

Thanks for the tip on eating before going... I will def do that next time. The support is so great here!! I wasn't going to document the increase of 1/2 pound but I read somewhere else on this site that u should record the gains as well so u can learn from it. Hence, this entry today. I guess its being accountable for ur actions. I am doing much better today wit eating though. Aiming to go to the gym this evening. :). Ab-doer after that. Will hopefully come back in a few days with a different number :)

If I eat a snack when all of these temptations exist, I log it immediately in to my fatsecret app. It lets me keep track. If the engagement is in the evening I try to eat less throughout the day so that I get more snacks at the party....

What HCB says is true. I can relate this morning. I wanted a to have a taste of the left over cheesecake in the fridge but I told myself to eat my breakfast first...after I ate I was too full to even want the cheesecake. Try to eat a meal before and you will find you don't have much cravings during the event
