Just experienced one of my biggest accomplishments since beginning this crazy health adventure. I passed up a box of new Nutter Butter Pop Tarts at the grocery store. Now you need to know that peanut butter is my absolute favorite thing in the world! That was tough! I even picked up the box, studied the picture of peanut butter pastry goodness (it was even embossed!) and read the nutrition label. 200 cals per pastry. Seriously considered working it into my daily plan over the next few weeks. But I think the angel on my right shoulder must have woken up and punched out the devil on my left shoulder, cause I put that box back on the shelf and thought, "I don't want that processed food. I would rather have some whole grain toast with real peanut butter." Woah! Who knew I had become that girl!

The REALLY funny thing is that I ended up on that aisle because I was looking for brown rice cakes. Ha!

Marvelous. You know this dieting over a period of time has got to be doing something to our psyche... and that's what we want. To second guess what we would have eaten in the past. And to make the decision to go with something healthy or at least healthier. Other then my big blow out of the other day, I don't crave the stuff I was eating when I began my journey. I passed up South Beach Protein Bars the other day thinking I'm better off eating something not processed. And I love them. Sort of a guilt free indulgence, but not really after you read the ingredients. Keep up the good work.

Nice work! It is pretty cool how you can retrain your taste buds and change your cravings over time. I'm sure your real PB alternative won't leave you feeling crappy like the super processed pop tarts would:-)
