The good news is that I must have had an angel protecting me because the bad news is that I was in and am still recovering from anaphylactic shock.
There are several signs and symptoms I still have including those weird sores in my mouth I spoke of...they are hives in my mouth and my throat called angioedema.
The doc said I also have significant after effects of the severity of the swelling in my throat and mouth, I have blood blisters all in my mouth and throat. Yuck, as if the mouth hives weren't enough!
She said the blood blisters occurred from the intense swelling of the tissues..ok, ok I get it.
When I told her I thought I was loosing my mind because the itching actually started to spread to my upper arms and chest she confirmed that that is indeed what happens in anaphylactic shock. Good to know I wasn't loosing my mind. I also felt light headed and again, I wasn't just being silly, I really was lightheaded.

I am still coming down from this anaphylactic shock and am doing good now. I have some antihistamines to keep on me and take everyday until I see the allergists and that will be ASAP they said. He will go over everything with me, test me for the exact food triggers and give me an epi pen thing.
They drew blood to test for the wheat allergies which she is certain I have which I am aware of from past issues.
SO, she was amazed at all the foods on my bad food lists so she told me to avoid ALL those foods and food groups. So I will be living on fish, chicken and squash until I get tested.

Thank you for all your thoughts. This is serious and though I'm worried about what foods I CAN eat because I'm deathly allergic to so many of them, there are still foods I CAN have. Telling me I can't have avocados would be like telling my hubby he can't have beer anymore...E-V-E-R!!!!

It's ok. I'll deal.

Any good squash recipes with no other veggies or fruits or nuts me, I'm open to them!

Talk to ya all soon...and again, thanks for the concern...

I am sooo glad that you are recovering and in good hands! *hugs* Yes, please always carry that epi pen, just in case. HOW about a nice butternut squash soup, with a beautiful fillet of salmon with some balsamic drizzled on top, cooked with onion and rosemary? Can you have that? You're in my prayers sweets... do be careful! xoxo

Yes, you definitely had an angel looking over you. =) I'm glad you're going to see an allergist. Hey, atleast you're not allergic to alcohol, right? LOL. I knew this woman who was allergic to champagne! Now, that's a crime. LOL. 'I pity the fool...' *Mr. T accent*

Glad you are recovering-what a scare. I love squash. Winter squash baked with butter and brown sugar if you can have those. I will keep an eye out for more.

HOLY SMOKES! That's scary! I'm so glad you are ok and I hope that you get everything sorted out real soon. I don't know any fancy squash recipes. You could try making a pureed soup with a little chicken stock. That's about all I got! Take care.

When you described your issues yesterday I had nothing to add to the other comments and although I thought it was anaphylactic shock, I did not want to add to your concern - given you were on your way to the doctor. It is really good to hear they will give you a full test, although you will look like a porcupine after :) This way they can do some pattern recognition and correlate any underlying issues. Good luck!
