mmmmhmmmm...a pound down from yesterday. Thought so! Well then I'll just do it all again today! Lots of veggies, lots of water, stay under my calories. Need to hit the grocery store, we're running out of stuff!

FS calculator says I can have 1900 calories a day...meh, I don't think so. 1600 seems to be good for me. I don't think I'll drop it lower than that for a bit, maybe in another 15 pounds. The slower weight loss, while making me impatient, is probably better for me in the long run. I'm really hoping the belly flap will tighten up, even a little bit. I'm not opposed to surgery for it, especially if it really becomes a problem but I'd certainly prefer NOT to need it. I don't mind a bit of sag and pooch (I earned it!), but if I have a big ol' flap of skin hanging down it's going to cause other problems and will need to be taken care of.

Those calculators aren't always the most accurate. So adjusting your caloric intake is a good idea. It's always good to play around with the calories to see what works for the individual.

That's what I thought too, I don't see any weight loss happening at 1900 calories a day. I'm not in it for superfast weight loss, but I don't think I'd do better than just maintain weight at that level. I'm happy to drop a little at a time, over time. What else am I gonna do? LOL!

I found the same thing w/ the RDI on FS. I played around with my activity level and saw that "active" allowed me 1900 kcal while "sedentary" allowed 1600. I gave myself flexibility to fall within that range to get a sense of eating a healthy amount and then adjusted to what FELT right to me. It was a good gauge but I learned to begin trusting myself. It helped. And - it's just a tool, after all! Good luck!

Kinda like a Stop sign is a 'suggestion'.. right?? LOL. Find out what's right for you.. No Cop, no Stop!!! I crack myself up sometimes.

Well I view speed limits signs as set in stone; speed limits, however, I view as suggestions! LOL! On the highway I HAVE to set the cruise control otherwise I look down and I'm cruising along at 95, wondering why everyone else is driving so slow. Only place I ever felt at home was in Germany on the autobahns.

Italian autobahns were my hero. I loved them. Stop signs are fairly set in stone, Stop lights are a little more stoned (except yellow), speed limits are there for me to smile at as I cruise past them going about 10 miles over.. I try to stay within 6 to 7 mph from the posted limit. I fail miserably. It's more like 15 to 20 but I know that over 20 is a felony so I frown when I get that bad, then ease off the pedal and set the cruise control.

I was driving a friends big growly fast 05 Ford Mustang on one of the German autobahns, cruising along at a tasty 115 mph and got passed by a Passat like I was standing still!

the RDI for me to lose was way off. Just go with what you are comfortable with and adjust as needed, your doing well. As for the skin, what will be will be! Hope it shrinks a bit for ya.

It's crazy - those calculators. Here's what I had to recognize the other day and it all has to do with set points and everyone is different. I have lost the same amount of weight (nearly 100lbs) in the same amount of time (8mo) as I did four times in the past but IN the past I starved at less than 800 cal a day and this time I've had avg 1500 a day. That's why I went into 'ok... let's call this maintenance mode' because I want to see what will happen if I eat more than recommended. Will I gain? Will I continue to lose? Will I hit my set point and THEN know if I need to decrease. I just wasn't looking forward to being hungry by eating less and then being miserable because I expected a bigger faster result. So... well, there ya go.

That's it right there. I don't mind feeling a little hungry, but I am absolutely not going to starve myself on purpose. I'd rather be fat. My body likes being around the weight it is now, and I have been this weight at various times in my life but I want it to be lower, and so does my heart, joints, and endocrine system. It's going to fight to stay this weight but eventually the fewer calories will win the argument. I'm just letting them has it out now, is all.
