CollyMP's Journal, 30 April 2013

I have noticed lately that I have fingernails. Not like my fingernails used to be, tissue paper thin, peeling, sad flimsy things, but firm, sturdy, non-see-through FINGERNAILS. Huh-so THIS is what taking vitamins will do for ya! LOL! They've still got ridges but they are at least growing out without a lot of peeling and fraying. I've never in my life had nails like this. There is a very real possibility that they will actually get longer than the tips of my fingers! I even scratched myself with one the other day when we were at the range shooting, I've never shot before with fingernails long enough to do that-have to account for it!

The long-and-painfully awaited period has FINALLY started, though the buildup has not so far lived up to it's billing. The husband nearly snorted oatmeal out of his nose when I got the ice pack out this morning to put it on my boobs, though. "You get mad at me when I put cold things on them!"-yes, you drop ice down my shirt, jackass.

I am going to satisfy any craving I have today, and I'll get back on track tomorrow. At least now I know why I was so ravenous the last few days.

YAY on the fingernails. Kinda cool to have real ones isn't it? Mine have always been thin and peeling. Very flimsy. Since I've been taking my meds they have strengthened up a bit. It's nice. As for your TOTM, well, I hope it never gets as bad as the 'build up' says and that the ice packs on the girls is a short lived thing. You deserve to indulge for the next few days. I doubt you'll do any real damage in that time. HUGS.. Love you

Oh you poor thing, I SO CAN RELATE!!! I went to the doc crying they hurt so bad each month. Finally fixed that with my diet, made a huge difference, but this month, i ate some crap and my boobs are screaming! Hope it goes by FAST. I seriously think the doctors need to give us some serious pain killers when this happens!!!!!! SERIOUSLTY! HA. My nails did the same thing, i think the fishoil helped my hair as well. My nails wouldn't grow unless I painted them, now I find myself clipping them (did it today) cause they got too long/out of hand and I didn't even realize they were growing.

Funny - ice pack on the boobs. I am sure its not funny but the picture in my head is funny! Feel better. I am so glad I am done with all that stuff.

LOL-it was pretty funny, and it sure did help!

Mine still have ridges - and I have taken enough multi/vitC/VitD/ Vitb12/ prenatals and biotin for the whole community here. I'm sure digging in soil w/o gardening gloves doesn't help. Just as well - I got 'tips' once and couldn't get my contact lenses in. Ice on the boobs.. uhm.. ouch!

And in a true case of serendipity, the frozen custard place has my favorite flavor today! I am enjoying chocolate almond right this very moment. I'm so glad, because otherwise I was going to have to do up a cake mix and eat it. Sigh...

Bella I think mine will be the same way, with the ridges. I'll get a nail buffer and see what that does, but nail polish won't stick to me more than a day or two before peeling off. Believe it or not, when I worked in an optical shop I had tips, and could handle those teeny little screws better with them than without them.

I've thought about taking some pre-natal vitamins (with doctor's approval first). It is supposed to give you a gorgeous "mane" of hair and nails... among other things like improving your skin (as told to me by a few friends). Have fun on your indulgence day! (I know I sure did last week... :)

LOL-I will certainly try! Though to be honest-I'm really not craving anything now. I had Chinese food, I had frozen custard...I'm not hungry.

For healthy & shiny hair and wonderful nails there is a supplement that is called Hair, Skin, Nails. It's in the vitamin/supplement isle and you have to really look for it but it's usually tucked in with with the vitamin side. They are WONDERFUL.

I'll definitely look for it-I am now officially a believer in this whole vitamin thing!

If you have thinning hair or stress issues with your hair falling out. This will help also. It stopped my thinning from the medications I am taking and the Infusion and stress.

I kind of like my hair thinning out, all my life it's been hard to handle because it's so thick.
