ctlss's Journal, 24 February 2013

if you would have asked me yesterday if that would be the case, I would have said it was doubtful. This winter has been awful for me. I am not sure why. I caught that darned flu and just haven't been able to kick the secondary infections that it caused. Hopefully, the new antibiotics will do the job.

Dan cooked me a hamburger this morning for breakfast. For as long as I can remember, when I am sick, he makes me a hamburger. One of my fondest memories is when I had pneumonia within a month of getting married, lying in bed, feeling like I was going to die, and seeing him round the corner with a hamburger for me with mustard and pickle. What in the world would I do without him? He is my rock, my safe place, my heart. God truly blessed me when He gave me Dan. Anyway, that is all I have had to eat so far today. The antibiotic kind of upsets my tummy, and my appetite isn't great. Maybe it will help me really kick start the losses? I sure hope so. I suspect that this lingering infection hasn't been really helpful in that respect either. I just don't have any oomph. I have been sleeping a whole lot more, the joint pains and body aches have been horrendous. Most of the time I feel like I have been beat with a bat. The doctor yesterday told me that is probably due to this ongoing infection. One thing I know for sure, from now on when I get an infection, I will insist they use something besides Amoxicillin for it. It just doesn't work for me.

Tomorrow I have to take mom to Scott AFB for her prescriptions. It appears that we may be in for another winter storm, so I intend to go early and get back before it starts. I am hoping it is a late evening event. They are calling for blizzard conditions in Kansas City, and my son called me earlier to say they were headed out to stock up. They could see another 10-16 inches of snow on top of the 12 that they got Thursday. I was glad that he called and told me he was getting ready for it. He just got a new Jeep, and has no problem getting around, but you always have to worry about power outages, etc when they are predicting a storm like this.

Well, that's about all the news that's fit to print from my corner...hope all is well in yours!

I wanted to add some pics of the food that we have made the last couple of weeks:

Sorry you've been sick, Steph! If you switch antibiotics, make sure to avoid ciprofloxacin. That side effects of that antibiotic were far worse than the illness for my hubby. Hope you feel better soon!
